TSLRRA Letter from the President
March 7, 2023
Dear TSLRRA Members,
Thank you for your participation and the momentum you helped create at the Annual Meeting in Austin. We are on the way to being front and center of the conversation, both at the Capitol and at TXDOT. Let’s keep that going.
The Board has several goals for 2023 but the first priority is ensuring our membership continues to connect and see value in our programming. In that vein, we have come up with some new ideas! A “Member of the Month” spotlight is in the works. Please send us a note if you are interested in showcasing what makes your business unique and we will get a list going. The Member of Month profile will be sent to our membership internally as well as posted on the site so we can all get to know you better. Along with upcoming events, and a golf tournament also in the works for fall, we will have lots of opportunities to network and connect.
We also want to keep the momentum going at the Capitol. What’s the best way to help? Each of our members has such a powerful unique story to share. Your facilities, your team, and your mission are vital to the short line network in Texas (and beyond) . We want to invite decision makers onsite to see first-hand what it is you do every day. If you would be interested in hosting a tour, please send us an email with your preferred dates and we can help coordinate. This will be a year round effort so if summer or fall works best for you, that also works for us. We will help with the program and any outreach that is involved. We can’t express to you the value of a couple of hours spent with a legislator. They will never forget the opportunity!
We will be sending another newsletter after the close of session to recap the advocacy effort. Ahead of that, please feel free to reach out to us if you have any suggestions about how the group can continue to grow. Our door is always open.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve you. It is a true honor.
Warmest wishes,
Ailsa and the TSLRRA Board
